The Royal Adelaide Hospital

The Royal Adelaide Hospital was founded in 1840 and is incorporated under the South Australian Health Commission Act, 1976. The three campuses (North Terrace, Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre and St Margarets) and associated outreach services together provide more than 848 beds for inpatients as well as associated outpatient and outreach services. The Royal Adelaide Hospital is part of the Central Northern Adelaide Health Service.

The Royal Adelaide Hospital (RAH) provides a specific range of tertiary referral services to the people of South Australia and the nearby states and territories, and a broad range of clinical services to people who rely on the RAH as their regional or local hospital.

To maintain and improve the health and well-being of the people of South Australia by providing a comprehensive range of high-quality, accessible hospital and related health service, promoting the health of the general community and encouraging healthy behaviour on the part of the individual.
