Employment Duration

The 457 Visa is entitles our nurses an employment position of up to four years, however as each nurse is sponsored by a specific hospital to obtain this Visa, you must work a minimum of six months for the sponsoring employer. If employment ends, for whatever reason, you must re-apply for the 457 with a different sponsor, or apply for a different type of Visa.

It should be remembered that nurses in South Australia may not be entitled to the concessions made by the current Adelaide hospitals should they decide to apply with a different employment sponsor. After the minimum length of employment has been met, our candidates enjoy the same freedoms as Australian citizens, providing of course, they adhere to the guidelines of the Australian authorities.
