Experienced and New Grad Midwives

Melbourne has warm to hot summers with low rainfall. May to September tends to be cool with relatively higher rainfall.

Our Client is the largest Public Sector Health care Provider in Victoria.

8281 babies were born between July 2007 - June 2008. As the largest public maternity provider in Victoria, our Client Hospital  is able to offer tertiary, secondary and primary service, through three Hospital sites.

Upon booking, all expectant women are seen initially by midwives and medical staff. Low risk women booking pregnancy care with midwives may then be seen throughout their pregnancy by midwives with referral seamlessly between clinics or sites should complications subsequently be identified.
Women with the following special needs may be cared for in multidisciplinary clinics with midwives either sharing care or as case managers:

The Women’s’ & Children’s program provides clinical governance for maternity services in relation to

    * safe and evidence based maternity care
    * prioritising quality activities within the maternity services
    * developing, advising and overseeing strategies
    * committees
    * guidelines
    * clinical reviews to improve peri natal outcomes
    * cutting edge maternity services

Midwifery


Woman's primary carer and caseload midwifery Midwives have the opportunity to work at our three maternity sites as:

    * a woman’s primary carer
    * caseload midwifery
Midwives working with women requiring secondary, tertiary or quaternary level care practice as an integral member of the multi disciplinary teams.

Clinical practice development is provided to the undergraduate, post graduate and novice to expert with further opportunities to participate and take up leadership roles in quality and safety, clinical protocol development, and maternity service initiatives. Key features of professional development include multi disciplinary and team learning and the access to the education programs of the tertiary teaching hospital.

Within the peri natal services they offer further opportunities extend to credentialing for supervision, education and assessment with CTG interpretation and management, ultrasound procedure, education, research and counselling, dependent upon area of work.

Through education and research in partnerships with world-renowned research institutions and universities, we are committed to making breakthroughs in treatment and prevention of disease.
